Disclosure
AppSommelier is run by Michael Welzel. Apps are published under the same name on the App Store. The site advertises those apps and includes them in best-of lists. To make sure that never happens covertly, fixed rules apply.
Rules for our own apps
- Labelling: every page that names one of our apps carries the label Ours and, right at the top, a disclosure linking to the developer page on the App Store. Pages without it do not get through the build.
- Advertising: ads for our own apps sit in a box labelled “Advertisement”, at most one per page.
- Best-of lists: our apps appear in best-of lists like any other app. The order is our recommendation, and our apps always carry “Ours” there.
- Fair comparisons: facts about other apps come with source and date. Other apps are never disparaged.
- Advertising elsewhere: a place on AppSommelier only appears in ads for our own apps together with the note that AppSommelier is run by the developer.

Planned apps
- SuperTalk: A dictation app for the Mac. In development, not released. If a best-of list for dictation apps is added, SuperTalk will appear there, labelled.
More apps by the operator are in progress. If one of them enters a field with a best-of list, it will be listed here first.
Money
AppSommelier currently earns nothing from affiliate links, third-party ads or sponsorship. The only advertising is for our own apps. If affiliate links are added, their rule will be published here first and the links will be labelled.
